Jan
18, 2003 Communication Effectively with Your Child
We had a wonderful young 8 year old little lady and her Mom, Karen,
join us for the first time this past Saturday. Mary met them at the
McD's play land and invited her to come to the support meeting. Karen
comes from Michigan and had all kinds of great things to share with
us regarding speech techniques and communication skills she's learned
in working with her daughter. And thanks to Peg for teaching us sign
language to the Pledge of Allegiance...your hand out was very helpful
too. I wanted to also mention I had a fabulous phone conversation with
a new mom in Tinley Park whose daughter was born Christmas...what a
fabulous lady and I can't wait to hug her little sweety. There may be
other families around town that may benefit from a support network who
haven't had the chance to plug in yet. Please let us know and we'll
add them to the communications via email, snail mail or a supportive
phone call. Colleen.
